This is Chikara from Tres.
2009 was very productive year for us. I would like to thank all artists we worked with in 2009. We released two full length titles, Big Tone / The Art Of Ink and Paten Locke / Super Ramen Rocketship in addition to several 12" and 7" titles in 2009. All the titles we released this year have been successful. Also, I would like to thank everyone who has supported our label. It is such a tough time for a small label like us. Hearing a great feedback about the music we put out has really motivated us to keep going. I wish 2010 will be a great year for all of us!
We have a lot of great stuff planed for 2010. We are going to release full length titles by Shawn Jackson, Co$$, and Lightheaded. All of these titles will be released on CD, vinyl, and digital. Don't worry! We will keep releasing vinyl! Also, more titles from my 7" series and our 6 year anniversary mixtape by DJ Lowkey will be released.
I will keep you updated about our new releases here.
Have great new year holidays!

DJ Tama

DJ Tama visited our office today. He is a DJ from Sapporo, Japan. He won one of the biggest DJ battle, B-Boy Park DJ Battle No Tricks in 1999. He was supposed to spin at Blue Monkey Lounge in LA last night and I was going to go to see him spin, but unfortunately, the show got canceled.
Here is some youtube footage of his set.
More videos and tracks he produced are posted on his myspace page.

New Track From Co$$

Co$$ has recently released a track titled, "No Allah." It's been featured on a few blogs, one of which being 2dopeboyz.com, and has generated quite a bit of commotion amongst the site goers.
Here's the link: http://2dopeboyz.okayplayer.com/2009/12/03/co-no-allah/#comments
Here are a few words Co$$ had to say regarding the subject matter:
"No Allah is no way is my proclamation that God does not exist, nor do I mean any disrespect to Muslims or any systems of belief, the song is really about good not being able to thrive where evil is uplifted….If you listen closely the lyrics are more about hypocrisy than Atheism….Thanx to all who take the time to listen to the music and analyze the lyricism before they jump to conclusions." -Co$$
You can expect a full length album from Co$$ to hit the stores soon.
